About The Second Side

About The Second Side

Cairy Tales have captivated people of all ages and different walks of life through the centuries with their larger-than-life characters, magical worlds, and charming love stories.

We all grew up with some version of a prince who rescues us from the tower or a princess who is saved from her evil stepmother.

The problem is that they are often only told by the heroine which leaves many other characters portrayed negatively. Readers never get to hear what others think about the situation and the ‘other’ character are seen as evil. An image that remains with us forever.

The Second Side is more of an idea than anything else. That there is more than one side. There is no telling if it is correct or not, but what it does allow you as the reader to do is to decide for yourself what really happened in that land far, far away.

Do you prefer to hear the dark parts of stories, or the light? Come immerse yourself either way:

The Dark-Seated Truth ~
The Second Side naturally has two sides to it as well. The Series of fairy tales told from a different point of view has become known as ‘The Dark Side’ of The Second Side. These stories lean more towards their root tales and tend to be a little bit darker than how we might have grown up believing fairy tales to be. The twists and turns, though magically influenced, will take you through the dark lifelike situations.

Then there is the other side…

The Light-Hearted Folly ~
The lighter side of the Second Side remains with Matta Rhymes and her Mother Goose Rhymes (aka The Second Side Rhymes). These are short stories that take you on a journey that Matta lived through that explains what the meaning is behind each of her rhymes. They are relatable and each has a moral by the end. Matta is after all quite a spitfire who errs on what she thinks is right.
